There
is really no need to say a lot about Laaibah
- she is almost a legend in her lifetime.
No other Saluki
bitch has left all the other bitches behind on
the racetrack like her for four years in a
row. Laaibah, like all our dogs, only ran once
a year at the European Championship / World
Championship with international competition,
but in 2013 in Switzerland, not quite fit
after the heat and to our total surprise, she
had the nose in the finals in front of Raffi
(Haftrangi Tizpa Iranschahr), which at that
time absolutely dominated the racing scene in
Germany. The next year in Finland Laaibah was
in top form and enjoyed the final run with
Raffi and the lightning-fast Kasumi Y-Shirvan
of the same age. In 2015 in Hünstetten the
worm was there, Laaibah was 1 second slower
than normal after the heat, she had to start
three times due to technical problems before
her preliminary run was declared valid, but in
the finals her incredibly self-confident way
of running in the field counted. so that the
faster bitches could not prevail and she won
by the tip of the nose. In 2016 she was back
in top form and - admittedly - the competition
was weak, so her World Championship title in
Toulouse was a real vacation. In 2017 she was
again pseudopregnant and already over six
years old, so that she was a psychological
support to our offspring Nazrat and Mehrshid,
but ran far from the final.
Her coursing career
was rather local, in Austria and the
surrounding area she shared first places with
her brothers Layyin, Lahiq and Layth, with
sister Leyla and cousin Kamria. She took part
in two CEMs, but our other dogs were more
popular - in 2014 in Italy she was on the 8th
place, in 2015 in Slovakia she got a miserable
rating in the second run and slipped from
place 5 to midfield.
We postponed our litter planning with her to
the year 2018, as our pack was very large
before that and Laaibah was still in top form
in every way at the age of seven.
Unfortunately, our dream mating with frozen
semen didn't work out, so that Laaibah was in
sensational form again in September and,
despite a large number of young, fast bitches,
made it into the finals with Nazrat at the
World Championships in Awans and came in 6th.
Unfortunately, our next two matings didn't
work either and Laaibah was over eight years
old in the meantime. Since she is still
healthy, fit and alert, we planned a final
attempt at breeding. Our staying power was
rewarded, all the good spirits helped -
Laaibah only got into heat in May, the
Austrians opened their borders in good time
after the corona lockdown, our male owner had
time to travel to us - for which we thank
Andreas and Anja from the bottom of our hearts
- and Hamra passed on her soul: on June 15,
2020, Walan von Iransamin mated our Laaibah,
on August 18, 2020 four males and three
females saw the light of day in an effortless
birth.

Walan
wasn't our first choice, in 2018 he would have
been way too young for us! But his fine, funny
character reminds us a lot of our N-males, of
his cousins, and we liked him immediately. We
have been able to observe his sovereign way of
running in the field, in addition to his speed,
since 2017 at the World Championships. His
mother Vischi is the sister of Vischin, the
father of our N-litter. Walan's father is
Dawidan's Buran, who ran his first races with
Hamra and Hosneja in Austria, then ran
sensational times in Germany until old age and
who also cut an excellent figure in the show
ring. Buran's father Amurath el Riad is a bit
older than Enigma and is one of our first Saluki
males, who immediately caught our eye at
exhibitions and is exactly our Saluki type.
Buran's mother Gazal is a legend, an incredibly
fast and beautiful bitch that we would have
loved to have on our sofa ourselves! |
